Welcome to Natick Youth Basketball

NYB’s philosophy is to provide Natick children the opportunity to participate in developmental basketball programs at a young age, and more competitive programs through the middle school years. We teach the skills and knowledge of the game to support each child’s development as a basketball player, and strive to help them develop a passion for the game. NYB emphasizes our core values of teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline and integrity to aid in the children’s development as people and potentially future high school student athletes.

Travel

Travel basketball is the cornerstone program for NYB. We offer travel basketball teams for boys and girls in grades 4-8 each winter.

In skill sessions, players work kids on ball handling, shooting, passing, and general offensive / defensive footwork to bring their game to the next level.

Intramural Basketball is an in-town basketball program. The Intramural program is open to boys and girls currently in Grades 1-8.

Fun and high energy clinics designed to provide an introductory basketball experience for boys and girls in grades K-3.

Annual Turkey Shootout

Established in 1995, the Turkey Shootout is a Natick Youth Basketball tradition that brings together over 100 teams on Thanksgiving weekend for a weekend of basketball and fun. The tournament hosts boys and girls travel basketball teams in Grades 4-8 from all over the state. The Turkey Shootout is a fantastic way to kick off the travel basketball season each fall.

Practices begin the week of November 30, with an additional practice on Saturday, December 5
Games begin December 12, with the season running through early March

Practice schedules and game times will be finalized after registration closes.

Open Gyms
We’re hosting free open gyms for travel basketball players to get some time in the gym before practices begin in November.
Open gyms will be run and supervised by NYB coaches and board members. No registration is required.
All open gyms will take place at Kennedy Middle School on the following dates:

NYB is transitioning to new uniforms for the upcoming travel basketball season. Our current uniforms are being phased out, so all players will need to purchase the new uniform style.
We know many families expect uniforms to last multiple seasons. To help ease the transition, NYB will cover 50% of the uniform cost for all players this season!
